History

Alpha Dog Technical Services, LLC. is the computer service spin-off of Lobo Savvy Technologies, LLC., which is a combination of a business ventures tracing its line back to 1988. It is the brainchild of long discussions on how to best serve the community while attending Better Business Bureau "Power Breakfasts". We realized that a narrow focus on just computers or computer repair wasn't getting anyone very far. When we tried to figure out what direction we needed to go as a business, it dawned on us that there are tons of side issues relating to computers that are never addressed. The computer is just tool, but the important bit is how the tool is used. Skill makes the difference between an ugly, unuseable product and a work of art.

Moving forward from that viewpoint made us realize just how often people used a computer in its least helpful form. Whether it is a business, a student or general user, there was a knowledge gap in how versatile that lump of plastic, wires and buttons on the desk could be, regardless of how well it functions. People simply didn't realize the potential, or, when they did, there was no help available to learn more. To fix this, we created a series of free classes in co-operation with Spanish Peaks Public Library , Tech for All, and The Huerfano World Journal newspaper. In the course of nurturing this process, we developed many basic classes that cover a variety of topics. Word processing, spreadsheets, and general Internet survival are just a few of them.

But more remained to be done, and it was clear that Lobo Savvy as a company was being stretched to meet the needs of the two worlds of training / advocacy and service / repair. In March 2010, the board of directors of Lobo Savvy Technologies, LLC. should focus on outreach, training, and entrepreneural support, while a new company focus on the computer service side of the house. Alpha Dog Technical Services, LLC was born.

We will go live August 1st, and complete the birth process by November 1st 2010. Stay tuned for many great things to come.
