From 1975 to 1979 I was in the Colorado House of Representatives representing a Western Slope district that included Aspen, where I had lived since 1962. I was then elected Lt. Governor, the first woman so honored in Colorado. After my political career, I moved full-time to Denver and worked in real estate and business brokerage with my own mergers and acquisitions firm. About ten years ago, I fell in love with this undiscovered part of Colorado and bought some land near Walsenburg. I moved to La Veta over a year ago, in part because it reminded me so much of the Aspen I knew back in the 60's.
